Explanation
Comparison of Organic Traffic – February 2026 vs. January 2026
Organic traffic declined by 9.37% compared to the previous month, reflecting a short-term fluctuation in visibility and user acquisition. We are actively optimizing content and technical performance to stabilize traffic and regain upward momentum.
Since March 2025, we have doubled the number of blogs and location pages published each month and increased the number of backlinks obtained monthly.
Looking ahead, we anticipate continued traffic growth as we maintain a consistent publishing schedule, optimize GBP listings, add new location pages, and acquire high-quality backlinks. Our ongoing commitment to producing valuable content and strengthening our online presence is expected to drive sustained increases in organic visibility in the coming months.

We changed our backlinks strategy in December 2023 in accordance with Google's recent guidelines, EEAT. We are now focusing on a blend of anchor texts and target links to achieve a more natural link-building approach. Instead of exclusively targeting exact keywords, we are using anchors such as brand names, generic anchors, naked URLs, and others for our target URLs.
We have observed a consistent increase in organic traffic over the past few months as a result of this strategy. Following this approach, we acquired 6 high-quality backlinks in February, as shown in the table above.

Explanation of Organic with 0 Value in GA
As we have been analyzing revenue over the past few months, we discovered an additional revenue stream that had been overlooked and unclaimed. The orders listed in the table above were recorded in Google Analytics as Google/Organic with a value of 0, even though they were actually paid orders.
For example:
- - Transaction ID: 2092402
- - First Medium Source in GA: Google / Organic
- - Total Revenue in GA: 0
However, the report generated internally shows that the total revenue is £75 as shown in the screenshot below:
Explanation of Remedial Order Calculation
Remedial orders occur when a user places an order and later adds upgrades or extra services, leading to a repeat order. Each remedial order has a unique Transaction ID and does not show as a “child” order of the initial order, but it is always linked to the same user email. If any of the user’s orders are confirmed as organic based on the URL or source, all of their transactions will be considered organic. Since these orders come from the same email/user, once we confirm the first order as organic, all future orders from this user will also be classified as organic.
Let's say a customer named Alex places an initial order (Transaction ID: 123456) for a basic gas safety certificate on an SEO-promoted webpage. Later, Alex decides to add extra services, like a boiler inspection and carbon monoxide testing. These additional services are processed as separate remedial orders with new Transaction IDs: 123457 and 123458. Although these remedial orders aren’t directly linked as “child” orders, they use the same email as the initial order.
Because the first order (123456) was confirmed as organic based on the first medium source in GA or source URL, all of Alex's subsequent orders (123457, 123458) are also classified as organic. This allows us to recognize the revenue from each of Alex’s orders as organic.
While working on revenue tracking, we identified some remedial orders that were placed organically from May to November, as shown in the table above. A total of 5909.72 was generated from remedial orders from May to November.
Examples:
Take order 2059625, placed by wassim.haffaf@yahoo.fr on December 22, 2024, as an example. The source of this order is unknown. However, orders 2049780, 2049781, and 2049782 were all placed by wassim.haffaf@yahoo.fr. The first medium source of these orders is organic in Google Analytics. Therefore, we conclude that order 2059625 is also organic, as the user’s initial source was organic.
Internal Referrer/Base URL verified here:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1mgDUJsGtwwYLZHz2sjbgzHnTW-p0pJH5k_TUdA6aRAQ/edit?usp=sharing
The table above lists the orders marked as "(Direct)/(none)" in Google Analytics. These orders were paid through the backend, as shown in the attached screenshots. We cross-verified these order IDs to confirm their original source (internal referrer/base URL). This verification shows that these transactions originated from the homepage or other web pages on the website. We are claiming these orders as “organic” for the following reasons:
- 1- The homepage and other web pages are not part of any paid campaigns.
- 2- We are promoting the web pages of gassafetycerts.com with backlinks.
Here are the details of the revenue GSC received as a direct result of SEO efforts in February 2026:
| Source | Transactions | Revenue |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | 215 | |
| Direct Organic Sources | 17 | 1,290 |
| Total: | 18.00 | £1,505.00 |
From the above table, you can see that we got 18.00 transactions from organic sources; all transactions amounted to a total of £1,505.00.
Direct/None Revenue Explanation
Over the past few months, our focus has been on tracking revenue. Recently, we found that some of the revenue tracked by our new tracker should be classified as organic revenue.
Here's what's happening:
In Google Analytics (GA), revenue labeled as "direct/none" indicates that the source of the user cannot be identified. This often means that the user came to the site without a clear referral source. This typically happens when the user comes from Google organically or via a PPC campaign but doesn't convert during their initial visit, resulting in a recorded revenue of 0. When the user returns directly to the site in the same month or later and completes the transaction, GA records the conversion under "direct/- none."
Therefore, these direct/none transactions can be attributed to organic or PPC revenue because the initial visit was driven by an identifiable source, either through organic search or a PPC ad. By using transaction IDs and matching them with the original source data, we can correctly attribute the revenue to its true source. This adjustment allows us to recognise the revenue that should be attributed to our organic efforts, which were previously misattributed as direct traffic.
We couldn't claim this revenue earlier because the source for "direct/none" was unknown. Now, by using the transaction ID from the direct revenue source and matching it in Google Analytics, we can trace these transactions. The Google Analytics (GA) screenshot below will help illustrate this concept.
In this Google Analytics screenshot, we observe two transactions initially reported as "Google/organic" with zero revenue. Later, these same transactions are reported as "direct/none," with each showing a revenue of 69 pounds.
The matching transaction IDs confirm that these entries refer to the same orders.
From this, we can logically deduce the following sequence of events:
- A user arrived at our site via an organic Google search
- The user did not complete the order during this visit
- The user returned to the site directly (i.e., not through a search engine) at a later time, likely because they were already familiar with our site from their initial visit.
- During this return visit, the user completed the order by making the payment.
- Since the initial source of the visit was "Google/organic," we can attribute the revenue from these transactions to organic efforts.
- Thus, even though the final conversion is logged under "direct/none," the transaction should be credited to organic search due to the user's initial interaction.
This data illustrates that the initial visits via organic search did not result in immediate conversions, but subsequent direct visits resulted in completed transactions. This helps in correctly attributing the revenue to the original organic source rather than to direct traffic.
Organic Sales from Indirect Organic Traffic
Based on the tracker we added on November 19, 2022 and the one we added in April 2024 as explained above, we received a total of 17 sales from direct organic traffic orders in February. These orders generated a revenue of £1,290.00.
Our traffic has been steadily increasing, but unfortunately, our revenue hasn't followed suit as anticipated. After a thorough analysis of the project, we discovered that some organic orders might not be properly tracked. To address this issue, we implemented a new tracker in Google Analytics on April 15th. This tracker helped us monitor the sources of revenue more accurately, enabling us to identify any direct (organic) orders that were previously slipping through. Through this tracker, we identified revenue that we weren't claiming previously, as explained in the direct/none explanation above.
Explanation of Revenue from Indirect Organic Traffic
Direct sources of organic traffic in SEO are channels or methods that indirectly contribute to an increase in organic traffic and conversions over time. Improved brand awareness and online presence through SEO activities is one such example. When users become familiar with your brand, they are more likely to directly type your website's URL into their browser or use branded searches on search engines. This illustrates the importance of search engine optimisation (SEO). By ranking high in search engine results through SEO efforts, gassafetycerts.com effectively captured the attention of potential customers during their research phase, leading to return visits and eventual conversions.
Conversion Comparison
| Month | No. of Conversions | Revenue (£) |
|---|---|---|
| December, 2025 | 24 | £3,111 |
| January, 2026 | 40 | £4060.97 |
| February, 2026 | 18 | £1,308 |
Steps to Increase Conversion
We've implemented a well-thought-out strategy aimed at boosting our conversion rates, and the results are promising. One of our initial actions was to strategically place CTAs within our article pages, capitalising on the substantial traffic they generate. These CTAs, including exit pop-ups, mid-content pop-ups, scrolling forms, and banner ads, serve as effective prompts to encourage conversions right where our audience is most engaged.
Recognising the importance of tracking to gauge our progress, we've implemented systems to monitor transactions originating from these article pages. This data will inform our ongoing efforts to refine our approach and maximise conversion potential.
Location Pages
As shown in the table above, we added 20 new location pages in February. These changes are expected to help generate more traffic and increase conversions over time.
With all these changes, we anticipate an increase in both traffic and revenue in the coming months. We remain committed to making similar enhancements in the future.
Blogs
In February, we published 10 blogs, as shown above. Our consistent blog publication has contributed to the increase in traffic and revenue over the past few months. We will continue adding valuable content to further boost keywords, traffic, and revenue.

As a part of our strategy to increase traffic, visibility, and conversions, we have been actively utilising Google Business Profile (GBP) by submitting listings and posts. Over the past 90 days, we have received 213 business interactions, and our business profile has been viewed by 2,381 people, with 521 instances of our business profile appearing in search results.
Google Business Profile (GBP) is a free tool provided by Google that allows businesses to manage their online presence across Google, including in search and maps. Having a complete and accurate GBP listing can improve a business's visibility in local search results and drive more traffic to its website.
Essentially, it lets users see the information they need at a glance. The Google Local Pack is a Search Engine Results Page (SERP) that displays the places related to your search.
- Where it's located on the map
- The business' contact number
- Business hours
- Star ratings
- FAQs
GBP is a convenient feature for both the business and the customers. According to research, GBP listings can increase traffic and ¹conversion.
Here are a few ways that GBP can help with SEO:
- Improved local search visibility: A GBP listing helps a business to appear in local search results, especially when searched for by name or when searched for using local-oriented keywords.
- GBP adds credibility to a business's online presence and can improve the trust of potential customers.
- Enhanced customer engagement: GMB allows businesses to post updates, offers, and events, which can help to increase customer engagement and drive traffic to their website.
- More opportunities for backlinks: GMB provides businesses with a platform to share content, which can lead to the creation of additional backlinks to their website.
In summary, having a fully optimized GBP listing can help to improve a business's local search visibility, online credibility, customer engagement, and opportunities for backlinks, which can all contribute to better SEO and higher conversions.
